Skiing in Meribel Mottaret
Meribel Mottaret is the highest resort in the Meribel Valley and most central of the Three Valley ski area. It therefore offers guests the best snow conditions and access to explore everything the World's largest ski area has to offer.
Meribel Mottaret Overview
Mottaret is a purpose built ski resort with the vast majority of accommodation either on the slopes or within 200 metres. Like Merible Centre, Mottaret has a main hub of lifts that can be found at its centre. From there, you can get to Courchevel within one lift and Val Thorens within two lifts.

Skiing Around Meribel Mottaret
Meribel Mottaret is an excellent area for all abilities as there is a wide range of piste including 3 green, 4 blue, 10 red and 2 black. Mottaret also has 3 beginner slopes with magic carpets.
One of the highlights of Mottaret is Mont Vallon, the highest point of the Meribel Valley, which on a clear day offers some stunning views back down the valley. Mont Vallon isn't recommended for beginners as the two pistes back down are both steep reds.
Access to Other Areas
Thanks to Meribel Mottaret's central location in the ski area and the excellent infrastructure the Three Valleys has in place, accessing the other areas in the Three Valley ski resort is easy.

Meribel Centre
To get to Meribel Centre just follow the green Truite piste all the way into La Chaudanne. You can also catch the Pas du Lac telecabine to the top or mid-station to ski down into Meribel Centre.
Courchevel
The Courchevel valley can be accessed within 1 lift via the Pas du Lac telecabine from the main lift hub. From the top, there is then a few routes you can take to get to Courchevel 1850 or Courchevel 1650.
Val Thorens and Les Menuires
Val Thorens and Les Menuires can be accessed from the main ligh hub by catching the Plattieres telecabine then a short ski along a blue piste to the Cote Brune chairlift, from which you can then follow either blue or red pistes all the way into Val Thorens or Les Menuires.
If you want to avoid the telecabine, you can catch the Combes chairlift from the lift hub, follow the blue Martre piste to the Chatelet chairlift and that takes you to the same point as the Plattieres telecabine.
Our Favourite Run
From the top of the Cote Brune chairlift follow the blue Lac de la Chambre piste all the way down to the Plan des Mains chairlift, from there you can ski back into Mottaret via the snow park.
Ski School Meeting Points
ESF are the only ski school to have a meeting point in Mottaret.
However, the ski school meeting points at La Chaudanne in Meribel Centre can be accessed within a very short ski down the green Truite piste.
Best Area for Children and Beginners
There are two beginner slopes in the centre of Mottaret. Or you can catch the Combes chairlift to the midpoint and access the beginner and children's area called the Yeti Park.
